-
What is pelvic health therapy, and who is it for?Pelvic health therapy focuses on the muscles, nerves, and connective tissues of the pelvic floor and core—areas that play a vital role in bladder, bowel, sexual function, stability, and overall well-being. In addition, we pay attention to your body as a whole from head to toe! It can help address concerns like leakage, pelvic pain, prolapse, constipation, pain with intimacy, core weakness, and more. Pelvic health therapy is for anyone experiencing discomfort, dysfunction, or disconnection in this area—including pregnant and postpartum women, individuals navigating perimenopause or menopause, and those recovering from surgery or injury. Whether your symptoms are new or something you've lived with for years, you don’t have to "just deal with it." We're here to help you heal, strengthen, and reconnect.
-
How can you help me during perimenopause and menopause? We address common concerns like pelvic pain, bladder changes, vaginal dryness, painful intimacy, prolapse, and core weakness, while also supporting sleep, energy, and stress management through personalized wellness coaching. Our approach is rooted in education, empowerment, and body connection—helping you move through this phase with confidence, strength, and support. Menopause is not the end of your wellness journey—it’s a powerful new chapter. We're here to help you navigate it with knowledge and care.

What can I expect during my first visit?Your first appointment at Strongher Roots Pelvic Health and Wellness is all about getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what’s been holding you back. We’ll begin with a conversation about your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and concerns. Then, we’ll perform a physical assessment that may include posture, movement, breathing, core function, and, if appropriate and you’re comfortable, an internal pelvic floor exam. During this exam, you will be lying down with a sheet covering you. Most people say it is much more comfortable than a typical exam you have had at your OB/Midwife appointment. You will also get some form of treatment on that first day. You’ll leave this session with a better understanding of your body, clear next steps, and a plan tailored to your needs. Most importantly, you’ll feel supported, heard, and empowered.
-
How long are appointments? All appointments are 55 minutes.
-
Do I need a referral from my doctor? No referral is needed to get started! Indiana is a direct access state, which means you can begin pelvic health physical therapy without a referral. However, according to Indiana law, a referral is required if treatment continues beyond 42 days. This referral can come from a licensed provider such as your physician, nurse practitioner, chiropractor, or midwife. We’re happy to help guide you through that process if needed.
-
Do you accept insurance?Strongher Roots Pelvic Health and Wellness is an out-of-network provider, which means we do not bill insurance directly. This allows us to provide the highest quality, personalized care without being limited by insurance restrictions or visit caps. If you have out-of-network benefits, we’re happy to provide a superbill upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We recommend checking with your provider to understand your out-of-network coverage. We require payment for your treatment at the time of service. Payments can be made via credit card, HSA/FSA cards, cash or check. Any reimbursement would be made directly from your insurance company.
-
Can I bring my baby to my session?Yes! Babies are always welcome. We know childcare is expensive and can be hard to come by!
-
What should I wear to my appointment? Please wear loose, comfortable clothes that you will be able to move and exercise in. Most often, we recommend wearing or bringing shorts to your appointments.
-
Where do we provide treatment? We are conveniently located on the northeast side of Indianapolis, just off I-465 and 56th Street. We understand that getting to an appointment isn’t always easy—especially during certain seasons of life. That’s why we also offer in-home visits and are happy to travel within a reasonable radius to bring care directly to you.
